No More Paper Towels

Today after getting off work and coming home, I started cleaning the kitchen. It had gotten a little out of hand since I’ve been a little sick the past few days. So I put you in your bouncer and brought you into the kitchen with me because you LOVE watching me do dishes and clean in the kitchen…it’s like your favorite place in the apartment. So I’m cleaning the countertops with cleaner and opening a new bag of paper towels as you watch me. You were so amazed and interested when I picked up a roll of paper towel and unrolled a few sheets. You watched me like it was the coolest thing in the world and I was a magician. I decided to break off a sheet and hand it to you to see what you’d do with it. For a couple minutes you didn’t move, with it laying on top of your belly like a blanket. Then you started grabbing it and wadding it up and eventually waving it in the air. I continued to clean and keep a careful eye on you, but unfortunately I didn’t react fast enough when you decided to bite off a chunk and attempt to swallow it.

It was VERY scary for me when you wouldn’t let me put my finger in your mouth to grab it. That’s when you started gagging. You eventually let me grab it out of your mouth and I quickly gave you a bottle to help wash any fragments down. It was VERY scary for Daddy and he promises NEVER to give you paper towels again. We’ll just stick with your toys…and wipes…and toothbrush boxes…and anything else that you like scratching. 🙂 I love you, Lauren!!!!

Love,
Dad
